Seeds & Strongholds
Reflections of an USDA Advisor’s Mission to Afghanistan
This book takes readers on a reflective journey, encouraging them to explore new ways of communicating with God. Through powerful first-hand stories, thoughtful questions, and moments of reflection, the book invites readers to open their eyes to the "seeds and strongholds" of life—those unexpected and challenging paths that bring comfort, growth, and a deeper connection with God.
Described as "a book for those seeking fresh eyes to view life’s journey," it offers spiritual lessons gleaned from faraway places and difficult environments. Martin shares how even in the most remote or trying circumstances, life’s challenges can provide profound insights, teaching us to hear what others cannot and see what often goes unnoticed.
The book emphasizes the importance of applying life lessons, particularly those learned from conflict. It challenges readers to embrace these lessons as opportunities for healing and transformation, encouraging them to rebuild not only their external circumstances but also their emotional and spiritual lives.
As the saying goes, "A teacher appears when the student is ready." Seeds & Strongholds reminds readers to stay open and ready for these lessons, offering hope, wisdom, and guidance for navigating life’s unexpected detours.

“Having worked with several USDA representatives in Afghanistan in several locations, Andrew was, hands down, the top USDA adviser I have had. I had the pleasure of working shoulder to shoulder in finding best practices within Agriculture.
