Publishing with Timberleigh Press

A practical, guided approach to publishing your book on Amazon

Welcome

Timberleigh Press helps authors turn completed or nearly completed manuscripts into professionally formatted books published using Amazon’s Kindle Direct Publishing (KDP).

We guide you through the Amazon publishing process, manage the technical details, and ensure your book meets Amazon’s requirements so you can focus on your content and your readers.

This page explains the services we provide, how the process works, and what to expect if we decide to work together.

What We Do

We provide hands-on, one-on-one support to help authors self-publish successfully on Amazon.

Specifically, we:

  • Format book interiors for Amazon KDP (paperback, hardback, and ebook)

  • Prepare and manage KDP project files

  • Create clean, readable interior layouts

  • Coordinate cover concepts and final cover files

  • Guide authors through proof review and final approval

  • Publish the book on Amazon under the author’s account or, if agreed, under Timberleigh Press’ account

Our focus is to get your book published correctly while keeping the process straightforward and transparent.

What We Don’t Do

To avoid confusion, it’s important to clarify the scope of our services.

  • We are not a traditional publisher

  • We do not pitch manuscripts to agents or publishing houses

  • We do not provide full developmental or copyediting services

  • We do not manage marketing, advertising, or book promotion

Once your book is live on Amazon, sales and promotion are entirely up to you.

The Timberleigh Press Publishing Process

Our process is structured, collaborative, and designed to reduce uncertainty at each step.

1. Initial Conversation

We discuss your book, your goals, and whether your project is a good fit for our service.

2. Project Agreement and Pricing

If we decide to move forward, we develop a simple written agreement that clearly outlines:

  • What Timberleigh Press is responsible for

  • What the author is responsible for

  • The scope of work for the project

  • The pricing structure and payment terms

This step ensures expectations are aligned before any production work begins.

3. Planning Document

We create a shared planning document that includes:

  • Book title, subtitle, and description

  • Author bio

  • Key metadata used on Amazon

  • Cover concept

4. Content Preparation

Before layout begins, your manuscript must be complete and edited. We use Google Docs as a collaborative workspace to review the content together, address final questions, and confirm that everything is accurate and ready for formatting.

5. Layout and Proofing

Once you confirm the content is complete, we format your book for KDP and guide you through reviewing proofs using clear, step-by-step instructions.

6. Publication

After you approve the final proofs, your book is published on Amazon under your name and account, or under Timberleigh Press’ account, based on our agreement.

How We Work Together

Collaboration is simple and transparent. We use familiar, accessible tools and provide guidance at each stage.

  • Google Drive for shared project files, giving you full access to all documents and work products throughout the project

  • Google Docs for content review and comments

  • Adobe Acrobat for final proof review

  • Clear instructions and direct communication throughout

You do not need to be tech-savvy. We will walk you through each step of the process.

If this approach sounds like a good fit, the next step is a brief introductory conversation.
